Wigton town centre is about to get freshened up as Cumberland Council will be delivering a deep clean starting Monday 2 June, expected to last around two weeks.

May has seen the earthworks on the project progress well. After working through one of the wettest Summers on record last year, we’re now in one of the dryest Springs in over a century according to the Met Office.

Cumberland Council has confirmed that The Sands Centre pantomime and autumn events programme will not go ahead as planned. The programme push-back has been caused by the storm damage earlier this year. This has had a significant impact on the work programme.
